For a while now, it has been pretty obvious to me that if you want to see amazing Special Effects go to the movies. If you want great character studies, beautiful writing, and compelling stories, turn on your TV, get a cold beer, put your feet up and enjoy.
There are a number of these shows that are so orientated to Television, you can’t imagine them on the big screen. In fact you wouldn’t go watch them on the big screen. They are designed and crafted for the smaller, more intimate size of the home television. Examples of this that I have been riveted by include: Sopranos, Nurse Jackie, Mad Men, 30 Rock, Boardwalk Empire, In Treatment, Treme, and many more.
The latest one is The Walking Dead. Yes, it’s an oldstory about Zombies taking over the world and follows a group of “Survivors” trying to keep their head. And here’s a good example of the talent moving to teh small screen where the creative people seem to have more control.
Writer and Executive Producer of The Walking Dead is Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile)
Also in the Executive Producer’s chair is Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens). And to top it all off is this wonderful poster. What’s not to like?

citizenjoe has been around for quite a long time and when I say he has been around, I mean he has been around. He likes writing and enjoys hanging out with this motley bunch of characters.
Lionel Gherkin is a sad sack with good reason, the poor bastard. You can read why in
Along for the ride is Shelby Wright. Shelby is ahighly respected and well-to-do-man-about-town. He is the group's cultural attache; its conscience but not really its heart.
And let's not forget Brenda Spoon. The lovely of the group. She a humourous bone that'll grab you like a meat hook and then tenderise like a piece of steak. People tell me she's hilarious; and who knows, one day I may even laugh at them.
